Ordered the sari sari, pork gisantes and pinakbet. The sari sari was the best then the pinakbet. Pork gisantes was a bit salty and needed more peas. Pork was on the overly cooked side. Pinakbet was on the soupy and on gingery taste side. Thelma's was close by and I usually eat at Bautista in Pearlridge. They make one of the best Filipino foods around.

Being an Americanized Filipino, I become tired of the typical everyday American diet... even for me, I miss my Nanays (my mothers) cooking of the filipino diet. I miss the filipino food I grew up knowing. So my fiance suggested Thelmas. I've only been here once before with a friend for breakfast, but it wasn't exactly memorable for taste. But coming here to try it a second time during lunch... I got the Pork Adobo and Pork Sinigang. Having those two items off their menu brought satisfaction to my need for my own cultures food. I'll most likely come back here again for my fill on filipino food when I need it.

We had the Pork Tocino which is so wonderfully flavored it makes the old standard "ham and eggs" seem bland by comparison. I ordered the chicken arrozcaldo, which is exactly what my tummy needed this morning. Note that the photo is minus the onions and fried garlic because that's how I requested it. The service was prompt and efficient, even though the restaurant was busy at 7:30 a.m. I gave the atmosphere five stars because Thelma's is exactly what a Filipino restaurant should be like. We had a great breakfast

Whoever Thelma is, she deserves a kiss. We knew this was the spot when it was the only busy restaurant on the block and full of local families. The server was so funny and sweet and everything we ordered was phenomenal, to the point we ordered takeout for later mid-meal. The lechon was mega crispy, the lumpia comes out piping hot, the pumpkin green bean a crowd favorite, the combo meals a great deal, and halo-halo amply abundant. Get ready for kanak attack after
